Because werewolves are not solitary creatures by nature, the highest ranking positions in the pack will sometimes be shared by mates. These pairs will be of equal rank, and given the respect they deserve regardless of gender, orientation or origin.
Alpha(s) - Alphas are highest ranking members of the wolf pack as they hold control over their pack members. The Alpha pair is responsible for leading the pack on hunts, protecting and overseeing pack territory, accepting strangers into the pack as well as driving errant wolves out of the pack. The Alphas keep the pack in order and in control and will take any measure to see that the pack remains undisturbed and unharmed. They tell the pack what to do, where to go, and how to work without questions from their members. Keeping things at a strict basis is their way of showing their care and concern for the pack-mates. Alphas should be shown the utmost respect and are in the position to punish those who do not show it. Disobeying an Alphas order will have consequences.
Beta(s) - These are the second highest ranking members of the pack. They are in charge when the Alpha(s) is/are unavailable, and are responsible for maintaining control and organization over the pack in the Alphas absence. These wolves are the most trusted advisors to the Alphas and may be consulted when dealing with more sensitive issues.
Delta(s) - These members are just below the Betas in rank, and if neither the Alphas or Betas or available they are in charge. They are also very trusted advisors to the Alphas, and lead the Scout and Warden tracks. These wolves usually take control of training the younger wolves in their appropriate specialties.
Gammas - These members are your average pack members, and are distributed in different roles in the pack based on their skill set or if trained specifically for a role. Gamma roles are listed as the following:
Vanguards- The most skilled and trusted of the Wardens and Scouts. These wolves serve as the Delta's right hand.
Wardens - Protectors, peacekeepers, and enforcers; these pack members are tasked with making sure everyone is safe, the territory is protected, and that the rules are followed.
Scouts - These pack members are trackers and information gatherers. They go out on their assignments given by higher ranking members of the pack and report back with information to the council with their findings.
Healers - Pack members gifted in the healing arts, whether they use herbs and homeopathic remedies, formal medical training or their given gifts. These members are the ones that heal the wounded and take care of those in need.
Keepers - A Keeper is tasked with the essential duties of maintaining, supplying, and tending to the pack's den. They are also responsible for guiding and training new wolves in the basics of pack life, as well as assisting in rearing any of the pack's pups. They are the guardians of pack knowledge and anything that is considered valuable to the pack. Those who take up this path are often selfless individuals with a strong instinct to guide and protect those under their care. Because they often exhibit a calmer exterior they are also frequently looked to in times of inner-pack conflict and strife, and assist in the problem solving of minor incidents among pack members.
Recruits - : New members that have not yet been trained in or chose their role.
Omega - Omegas are rare type of werewolf who is submissive to all others, but is as important to a pack as an Alpha. This is because, unlike other wolves who are constantly trying to find their place in the pecking order, when Omega’s are around their packmates, their very presence -- attributed to their un-ending submission -- can at times be calming to those around them. This is especially helpful when another wolf is experiencing heightened rage or other emotions. This is not an extra ability or power they possess, it is innate as it is part of their naturally calming presence.
Because of their importance to the pack structure, most wolves do not consider Omegas to be weak or less-than. In fact, most wolves maintain respect for this type of wolf. Because they are submissive with a calm demeanor, an omega will always submit to another wolf
